The ECOSOC committee commenced its work with an engaging and thought-provoking start. The topic under discussion was “Measures to Implement the Use of Digital Technologies for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
At the outset, delegates appeared reserved and somewhat unsure of themselves. Although their opening speeches were well-prepared, many delegates lacked the confidence to engage actively through Points of Information (POIs).

As the first day progressed, the delegates gradually grew more confident and began participating in POIs, though such interventions remained limited until the conclusion of the opening speeches. Subsequently, the delegates shifted their focus to drafting their working paper, which marked a productive end to the first day.
The second day witnessed a notable transformation in the committee’s dynamics. Delegates emerged energized and enthusiastic, actively delivering speeches and posing POIs. Despite the initial uncertainty from the Chairs—given that only five amendments and three operative clauses had been submitted—the delegates soon found their voice. Some, such as the delegation of the Republic of Korea, made bold attempts to consolidate influence through their amendments.

However, an unexpected global crisis disrupted the proceedings: two rogue participants appeared, representing a faction opposed to the United Nations system. Despite their unconventional stance, they approached the Chairs and fellow delegates with courtesy. After a brief preparation period, the committee resumed with opening crisis speeches, which were delivered punctually and effectively, enabling the delegates to return swiftly to drafting and negotiation.
On the third and final day, the remaining amendments were addressed, and the working paper was completed. The session culminated in the final vote on the resolution, followed by an enjoyable unmoderated session and light-hearted “punishments,” fostering camaraderie among the delegates.

We are immensely proud of all participants for their dedication, enthusiasm, and growth throughout the sessions. Their efforts truly embodied the spirit of international cooperation and diplomacy.
